Microsoft Ads (formerly known as Bing Ads) is a network of advertising created by Microsoft. Businesses globally use this advertising network to directly promote their services or products to potential customers.
How does it work?
A customer enters a set of words or “keywords” into the Bing search engine. If any of the keywords in your ad match a search, the ad will appear next to or above the search results. From this, the customer will choose to act, either clicking through to visit your website or contacting you.
Microsoft Ads aren’t free, but there is no minimum fee to begin with, making them an accessible option for those on a budget. This budget can be set/adjusted based on daily spending, and you only pay for clicks when a customer clicks on your ad.
Both Google Ads and Microsoft Ads offer the same functionality, but some main differences affect how they are used:
- Search volume – Google has a much higher search volume than Microsoft’s search engine, Bing. This means that Google is better in terms of potential reach. Your ad is likely to appear in more searches, and there are more users you can connect with. But with higher search volume comes more competition. Google Ads has more reach. However, Microsoft Ads might be easier to rank for.
- Cost – Microsoft Ads cost less. This is mainly due to the lower competition,
- Ad Scheduling Time Zones – In Google Ads, the campaigns will be scheduled according to the location of the ad account. Microsoft’s scheduling can be based on where the person viewing the ad campaign is based.
- Languages – Google Ads can target users in over 40 languages for international businesses. Microsoft Ads can target 12 languages.
Both Google Ads and Microsoft Ads have good reach and can effectively connect with your target audience. It simply depends on your business’ budget and goals.
We charge a flat-rate management fee for our PPC. This is because we want to maximise your profit, not your ad spend. Our objectives are aligned with yours with a fixed management fee so you can feel comfortable that our suggestions are for your benefit, not ours.
We also send your ad spend directly to Microsoft, so you know we’re not keeping any aside for ourselves.
