$459k Organic Revenue for Lawn Care eCommerce Brand
total organic revenue in one year
growth in YoY revenue
seasonal revenue surge
The Challenge
When Golf Course Lawn Store partnered with us in 2022, the business was generating around $100k per year and relied heavily on Ron Henry’s YouTube channel for traffic. Organic search visibility was limited, making it difficult to compete with larger retailers like Amazon and drive consistent sales. The goal was to build a stronger organic channel through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Content Marketing to attract high-intent customers and support long-term growth.
In 2024–2025, the focus shifted to scaling revenue and improving consistency. The business needed to capture more seasonal demand while maintaining sales during quieter months. At the same time, the rise of AI Search meant content needed to perform across both traditional rankings and in Google’s AI Overviews and LLMs like Perplexity.
The Business
Golf Course Lawn Store is a U.S.-based eCommerce brand selling premium lawn care products, including fertilisers and fungicides. Founded by lawn care expert Ron Henry, the business serves customers who want professional-grade results at home.
The Goal
The goal was to increase website revenue year-on-year (YoY), reduce reliance on Ron’s YouTube traffic, and create a more stable revenue stream.
The Strategy
Step 1: Differentiate from Market Giants
Instead of competing directly with large retailers like Amazon on product terms, we focused our SEO strategy on simplifying product choices for new lawn enthusiasts. We built a content-rich ecosystem to dominate search rankings and educate customers throughout their buying journey, including a knowledge base, in-depth blog content, seasonal lawn care guides, and an interactive calculator. This allowed us to build trust and position the brand as the expert before purchase decisions were made.
Step 2: Conversion-Optimised, Seasonal Content
Once we were attracting the right audience, the focus shifted to converting that traffic into sales. We embedded products directly into content with an “add to cart” feature, supported by strategic internal linking and clear next steps aligned with user intent. Content was also aligned with seasonal demand, ensuring users found the right solutions at the exact moment they were ready to buy.
Step 3: Dominate AI Overviews and LLMs
As search behaviour evolved, we adapted the strategy to maintain visibility. Using AI Search Optimisation, we structured content to answer clear, intent-driven questions, improving eligibility for AI Overviews and LLMs like AI Mode and Perplexity. This helped the brand stay visible across both traditional search rankings and AI Search.
The Results
Result 1:
Organic search generated $459K in revenue between 2024 and 2025. Conversion-optimised blog content contributed $84k of this total, directly linking content to sales. This established organic search as a scalable, revenue-generating channel for the business.
Result 2:
The business achieved 30% YoY revenue growth, reaching $1.99M in 2025. This marks a significant increase from the $100k annual revenue when the campaign began. The business has also maintained a 15%–17% profit margin, demonstrating that the strategy has scaled efficiently.
Result 3:
Revenue surged by 64% in December, reflecting strong performance during a key seasonal peak. By aligning content with high-demand periods, the business gained visibility when customers were actively searching for solutions. This ensured seasonal demand was captured effectively and converted into revenue.
