Are you a Developer who loves the idea of building WordPress websites either by implementing WordPress plugins or developing custom-coded solutions? We’re looking for a Senior Website Developer to join our passionate and talented team.

Exposure Ninja is looking for a Senior Developer who is able to build WordPress websites from scratch and act as a consultant and support to other Developers within Exposure Ninja.

We’re a fun, vibrant, and productive team. We love to get creative for our clients and have a team who love to get stuck in together. We’re distributed over a few different countries and encourage our Ninjas to travel whilst they work if they’d like to. We hang out on Slack and have regular Google Hangouts calls to ensure everyone is getting all the help they need.

You’ll communicate with our Project Managers on a daily basis; not only will you be responsible for building performant websites from a Figma design, but you will also answer internal dev questions and be called upon for ad-hoc website amends and maintenance, as well as assisting with the scoping and costing process for new projects. Each website build will have specific technical requirements to achieve our client’s goals, and we are looking for a Developer who can see the bigger picture and conceive and build scalable, long-term solutions

You’ll be answering questions and talking to Project Managers everyday, so you MUST have impeccable English and be super organised.

Our ideal Senior Website Developer:

  • Highly experienced with PSD-to-WordPress, HTML, CSS and JQUERY, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL
  • Solid and proficient experience in WordPress website building and troubleshooting
  • Ability to configure WordPress backends using custom posts, ACF and Gutenberg Blocks
  • Connecting to third-party APIs
  • Advanced JavaScript styling to front-end components such as forms, checkouts, and wizards
  • WordPress Plugin modification, Custom plugin development from scratch
  • Experience with Responsive designs and Mobile-friendly designs
  • Experience in WooCommerce, including payment gateways and fulfillment systems.
  • A problem solver, with good intuition and commercial acumen
  • Ability to use Google’s Lighthouse’s tools to optimise website performance and follow best working practices to ensure our websites are as performant as possible
  • Ownership of development, testing, and final delivery
  • Complete projects and tasks within the timeframes agreed, ensuring any unforeseen issues are communicated
  • Build high converting landing/sales pages based on CRO principles
  • Installation of 3rd party scripts and tracking codes
  • Exceptionally keen on details and thorough in doing quality checks of his/her own work
  • Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Native or fluent English — both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions and feedback to the teams

Front-end design and site performance are super important to us so you need to be able to demonstrate that you are design led but also able to build websites that are super healthy and super fast.

The skills we’re looking for:

  • At least 5 years of commercial development experience within an agency
  • Solid and proficient experience in WordPress website building and troubleshooting
  • Exceptionally keen on details and thorough in doing quality checks of his/her own work
  • Ability to alter and code WordPress websites
  • Understand conversion principles (CRO) in website design and functionality
  • High initiative to solve problems and find solutions
  • Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Native or fluent English — both verbal and written
  • Available to work within UK business hours (9-5) on 5 days a week to communicate with the team
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions and feedback to the teams

Work Hours:

This is a freelance position, we anticipate having up to 35 hours a week available (this is not always guaranteed)
