Black Orchid Gifts is an online gift store selling a variety of products including jewellery, stationery, cards, candles and bath and body products.
What the Objective Was
The business was hit hard by COVID-19 and quickly needed to develop its online presence and increase sales from the website. The client came to Exposure Ninja for a redesign of their previous eCommerce website, which wasn’t converting well. Additionally, our client really wanted to bring the feeling of an in-person gift shop to her online store.
How We Achieved It
The Package
The website was built on the Shopify platform using the Debut theme, specifically designed to showcase products on eCommerce stores. Following the website launch, we launched a locally-focused monthly 2 Action Google Ads campaign.
The Strategy
As an online gift store, the website needed a strong product-focused theme that would recreate the experience of browsing in an in-person gift shop. We selected the Debut theme, which is responsive on mobile devices, focusing on the products. The filter and sort function ensured products were easy for users to search through and the checkout process was set up to ensure minimal basket drop-offs.
We refreshed the business’ online look by creating a soft turquoise colour palette with fresh white undertones and complementary imagery. Trust signals such as client testimonials were added to the website to show Black Orchid Gifts’ credibility and product quality.
We underpinned the website build with local SEO to provide an excellent foundation for future growth, with traffic increasing each quarter from search.
